Permitted are Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) computer
Data recorders, Delay boxes, Trans brakes, Automated shifters (unless OEM), Throttle stops and Stutter boxes PROHIBITED. Two wheel line locks are permitted on non-drive wheels only. Single stage high side rev limiter Permitted. Starting line rev limiter PROHIBITED. Must not affect down track RPM in anyway. Crank trigger is PROHIBITED unless OEM distributor-less ignition. Slicks are permitted and mufflers are optional.

Sportsman Payout

Jr. Dragster
Racers age 7-18 years only. Classes will be combined for competition.
Beginner: Ages 7-9 11.90 & slower ET limit
Advanced: Ages 10-17 8.90 & slower ET limit
Master: Ages 12-17 7.90 & Slower ET limit
Drivers must follow the IHRA rules when selecting their dial in.
All classes are handicapped, 0.500 full tree, dial-your-own eliminations. Breakout rules apply.
Non-compliance of rules will follow the consequences per the 2023 IHRA Rulebook.
Registered points Racers may qualify to compete at the 2023 IHRA ET Team Finals
All classes unless advertised differently will have random pairings in all rounds.

The points program for Onawa Dragway includes Top , Mod , Sportsman , and Jr’s . These classes will be

Onawa Dragway offers 13 points races for the 2023 season :
● provide a copy of your IHRA license or membership and a copy of your valid drivers license if
applicable.If you are not a member you must become a member before you register.
● Racer must register before your points will count . Points can not be counted for events that were
completed before you signed up .

Points will be awarded during IHRA Summit SuperSeries races only .

The rules for bracket finals require you to race a min of 3 races or 50% of the races completed.
Points will be awarded as follows ;
● Daily Show up points – 10 points . Must stage your car first round to receive these points
● Each round Win starting with 1st round = 10 points
● Winner of the class will receive 3 bonus points
● R/U of the class will receive 2 bonus points.
Semi Finalist of the class will receive 1 bonus point
● NEW FOR 2023 If you lose the first round- buybacks will be ran separately (in a “buy back round*) and if you win the buyback round you will NOT receive any points for this round but you will advance into the 2nd round with 1st round winners and begin earning full points with each round win.
● If there is a tie in the top 5 there will be a runoff -TBA
